Here are the five teams on "Upset Alert" for Week 1.
It's here - finally.
Week 1 of the 2017 college football season starts tonight, with a couple of highly-ranked teams in action.
What top 25 teams are at risk of being upset Week 1?
Here are the five teams we're placing on "Upset Alert."
1. No. 15 Georgia vs. Appalachian State, 6:15 p.m. E.T. on ESPN
Georgia is a 14.5-point favorite in this one, but Appalachian State should be able to play with them for most of the game, if not pull off one of their customary upsets.
2. No. 13 LSU vs. BYU, 9:30 p.m. E.T. on ESPN
What's LSU going to look like in Year 1 of the Ed Orgeron era? The Tigers' offense is known to struggle and BYU is consistently one of the most-formidable non-Power 5 teams.
3. No. 2 Ohio State at Indiana, 8 p.m. E.T. on ESPN tonight
The Buckeyes are a popular national title pick and with former Hoosiers' coach Kevin Wilson now running the offense, the passing game should be much improved. Indiana is always a tough out for OSU in Bloomington, though, and this is maybe the most-hyped game in the history of Memorial Stadium.
4. No. 23 Texas vs. Maryland, 12 p.m. E.T. on FS1
Texas went 5-7 last season, but the arrival of Tom Herman in Austin has the Longhorns placed in the preseason top 25. Is that warranted? Maybe - Texas is certainly talented. But the Terrapins should be improved in Year 2 under D.J. Durkin and will give the Longhorns trouble, especially with their potent running game.
5. No. 10 Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa, 7:30 p.m. E.T. on FS1 tonight
If you can start the season ranked inside the top 10 and be a "dark horse" College Football Playoff pick, Oklahoma State is it. The Cowboys, led by quarterback Mason Rudolph, should have one of the country's best offenses. Tulsa is tough, though, and season openers can be weird. A ton of points are going to be scored in this one.
