One of the biggest non-College Football Playoff bowl games is switching TV networks.

The Holiday Bowl, which had been televised by ESPN all but one year since 1980, will no longer air on the Worldwide Leader. It first televised the contest in 1978.

It's moving to Fox Sports 1.

The game will be played on Dec. 28.

The Holiday Bowl, which pits a Big Ten team against a Pac-12 squad, will kick off at 9 p.m. E.T. on Dec. 28. It will be Fox Sports 1's first bowl game.

It will be competing for TV viewers with ESPN, which is set to televise the Alamo Bowl at the same time.

Some of the recent Holiday Bowl games have featured USC, Nebraska, Wisconsin and UCLA, among other programs.
