There Are Growing Calls For Travis Hunter To Dump His Girlfriend
Travis Hunter is facing growing calls to dump his girlfriend, Leanna Lenee.
The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner has faced criticism for his relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Leanna Lenee. The couple got engaged earlier this year. Earlier this month, Lenee took heat for her behavior at the Heisman Trophy Ceremony in New York City. She didn't appear to stand up when her significant other won the award. There have since been other videos trending on social media, giving people pause about their relationship.
Hunter, meanwhile, has stood by his significant other. Though both Travis and Leanna have deleted their social media accounts amid the criticism.
“You ain’t never had no girl so why are y’all talking about me,” Hunter said in a livestream on Twitch last week. “Find someone else to talk about… Go talk about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life. Stop worrying about what I got going on. I know what I got.
“My girl been with me for five years. y’all are just now starting to talk about me… y’all go do something else with y’all life. Clickbait pages stop, y’all better stop I’m telling y’all. Something bad is gonna happen to y’all [if you] keep doing that. Y’all better stop that. I ain’t playing.”
As more and more videos and tidbits about their relationship surface on social media, Travis is facing calls to dump his longtime girlfriend.
"Aight, there’s too many videos and too much proof that she might not be the right gal for him. Travis Hunter has to make the call," one fan wrote.
"If the Travis Hunter fiance drama is true, you won't hear another peep out of me about the man. Feel horrible for him. Dump her, go to the league, make your money, five a real partner," one fan added.
"Honestly feel for Travis Hunter’s girl right now. I’d be terrified to see what would come out of the woodwork if I ever dated someone in the spotlight. With that being said…dump her," one fan added.
"At this point how much more does Travis need to see? All this was going on when they were supposedly still together, Man just kick her to the curb and focus on yourself and your career Travis… We all want the best for you, Even coach prime," one fan added.
Former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson is among those not feeling bad for Travis or Leanna. He believes they've brought this upon themselves.
“It’s their business. And by that, I mean, it’s everybody else’s business because that couple put it out there,” the CBS analyst said. “All these clips have been put out on social media. So people are responding to Travis Hunter and his girlfriend and pulling up old clips that you, Travis, and her put out to the public. You can’t complain when people respond. That’s social media. You can’t say ‘mind your own business’ or ‘keep your opinion to yourself’ when you have shared with everybody.”
He added: “You’ve gotta give Travis grace and you’ve gotta give her grace. They are both navigating these waters for the first time.”
It does stink for Travis to have to go through something like this, fresh off of a Heisman Trophy win.
The Colorado Buffaloes star is currently preparing for the final game of his collegiate career, as he's set to take on BYU in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday night.
But Hunter, the possible No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, could be soon forced to make a tough decision on his relationship with his longtime girlfriend.
