These Four 5-Star Recruits Will Announce On ESPN On National Signing Day

National Signing Day is less than a week away.

While the drama of years past is dimmed by the fact most recruits signed during December's early signing period, there are still some major prospects announcing next Wednesday.

Among them are four players rated as five-star recruits in 247Sports' Composite Rankings: offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr., cornerback Tyson Campbell and cornerback Olajiah Griffin.

All four prospects will make their announcements on ESPN's live coverage of the day. The Worldwide Leader released its coverage plans for Signing Day this afternoon.

Here are the scheduled announcements and finalists or the five-star recruits:

  • 10 a.m. hour, ESPNU: Surtain Jr. (Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Miami)
  • 10 a.m. hour, ESPNU: Campbell (Alabama, Georgia, Miami)
  • 10 a.m. hour, ESPNU: Petit-Frere (Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State)
  • 1 p.m. hour, ESPN2: Griffin (Alabama, Oregon, USC, Tennessee)

Surtain Jr. is the son of former NFL cornerback Patrick Surtain and the No. 6 overall recruit in the country. Petit-Frere is the No. 7 prospect in the nation.

Campbell is the No. 12 player in the class, while Griffin checks in at 28th overall. Like Surtain Jr., Griffin has a famous father. His dad is rap great Warren G.

National Signing Day is set for Wednesday, Februrary 7. Things will get going early.
