One of the country's top tight end targets narrowed down his recruitment list earlier this week.
Thomas Fidone, a four-star tight end recruit from Iowa, took to Twitter with a video that showcased his highlights from his high school career. At the end of the video, Fidone listed the six programs that are still in contention to land him.
Unsurprisingly, his home-state Iowa Hawkeyes made the list. He then listed three other Big Ten programs: the Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan Wolverines and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
But that's not all. One independent program - Notre Dame - and the reigning SEC champion LSU Tigers also made the cut. The four-star tight end has a stacked list of finalists.
Check out the video and list below.
Fidone is the No. 2 tight end in the 2021 class and the No. 1 player from the state of Iowa. He's also the No. 99 overall recruit in the country, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
247Sports currently lists Nebraska as the favorite to land the talented tight end.
However, Iowa and head coach Kirk Ferentz will likely make a strong push for the in-state recruit in the coming months. The Hawkeyes continuously produce elite tight end talent in the NFL.
Could Fidone be next?
