Tirek Murphy, No. 18 RB In 2020, Announces Commitment

Middle Village (N.Y.) Christ The King four-star running back Tirek Murphy is heading to the Midwest. The top-rated player in New York announced his commitment to Purdue today.

Murphy is the fifth commitment for Purdue in the 2020 class. He is the Boilermakers' first four-star pledge.

Under Jeff Brohm, Purdue has established itself as a team with a high-octane and creative offense. Murphy should help keep that going when he gets to campus.

He made his decision to commit to the Boilermakers after taking an official visit to West Lafayette this weekend.

"This process was crazy but I know where I want to be," Murphy wrote. "I will be committing to Purdue University BOILER NATION STAND UP!"

Murphy is the 18th-ranked running back in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

He rushed for 627 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games as a junior.
