As we count down the days until the start of college football, Fox Sports' Joel Klatt has been unveiling various top five lists. Today, he broke down his top five quarterbacks.

Not surprisingly, Klatt has Clemson's Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa at No. 2. There's really no debate that they are the two best QBs in the sport heading into the season.

At No. 3, Klatt went with Oregon's Justin Herbert, who could have been a first-round pick in this year's NFL Draft if he left school early. As it stands, Herbert could make a case to be the first quarterback taken in 2020 with a strong season.

Rounding out the top five are Texas' Sam Ehlinger at No. 4 and Georgia's Jake Fromm in the fifth spot.

Overall, there isn't much controversy on this list. It will be interesting to see if Klatt re-ranks his top quarterbacks at the end of this season, and if any new names emerge.

Off the top of our heads, Michigan's Shea Patterson and Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts could easily find their way into the top five, and some other uber-talented youngsters like Ohio State's Justin Fields, Texas A&M's Kellen Mond and Nebraska's Adrian Martinez are ones to watch as well.
