The Oklahoma Sooners lost a commitment from a top recruit on Tuesday night.
Top junior college recruit Jacoby Jones took to Twitter on Tuesday night to announce his plans to re-open his recruitment.
Jones is the No. 1 strong-side defensive end recruit in the junior college ranks, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings and the No. 24 player overall.
“I have decided to de-commit from the University of Oklahoma and re-open my recruitment until signing day in December for personal reasons. I appreciate Coach Riley and Coach Thibbs & the entire OU coaching staff and Sooner fans for all the love they have shown me. I ask that everyone please respect my decision,” he said on Twitter.

Jones has offers from a few of the top programs in the country, including Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. We’ll have to wait and see if he decides the FBS is right for him.
