Texas A&M has lost its starting quarterback.
Trevor Knight is out for the rest of the season, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin announced this afternoon.
The former Oklahoma quarterback has a shoulder injury and might return for the Aggies' bowl game.
Texas A&M will move forward with Jake Hubenak at quarterback.
Knight had totaled 1,911 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions on the year, helping lead Texas A&M to a 7-2 record.
The Aggies, No. 4 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, suffered an upset loss to Mississippi State this past weekend. Texas A&M is No. 10 in the latest AP Poll, but will surely drop a ways from No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings that come out tonight.
Texas A&M is set to host Ole Miss at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas on Saturday night. The Rebels will be missing Chad Kelly, who is also out for the season. The contest will kick off at 7:30 p.m. E.T. on the SEC Network.
