Trevor Lawrence Getting Criticized For His Performance At North Carolina

Trevor Lawrence throws up his hands during a college football game at North Carolina. He is the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft as of now.

Trevor Lawrence hasn't been bad this season, but the Clemson sophomore quarterback hasn't really been living up to the insane Heisman Trophy hype that came following his sensational freshman year.

The star Tigers quarterback has just looked off at times - and that is especially true today.

Clemson is struggling at North Carolina, as the Tigers and the Tar Heels are tied, 14-14, late in the third quarter.

Again, Lawrence hasn't been bad - he's 15 of 24 for 163 yards - but more is expected from the former five-star recruit and likely No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick.

Lawrence has been missing open wide receivers and the deep threats just haven't been there for Clemson's passing offense this year.

It's important to remember that Lawrence is just a true sophomore and it's not crazy for him to not live up to the insane hype this year.

Still, if Clemson is going to repeat as national champions, the Tigers are going to need to get much better quarterback play from Lawrence.

Clemson and UNC are playing on ABC.
