Trevor Lawrence left the first half of today's Clemson-Syracuse game with an apparent upper-body injury. The Tigers' true freshman quarterback took a big blow to his upper body.

The hit looked bad and Lawrence was down on the field for a couple of minutes. He was looked at on the sideline and then had his helmet taken away.

Lawrence eventually entered the locker room to get looked at further.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said he would provide an update after the first half. The Tigers announced the following update at halftime: "Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence officially "not expected to play in the second half." The exact extent of his injury wasn't mentioned. Clemson gonna have to "Bring Their Own Guts" here in the second half," tweeted Eric Boynton.

ESPN that revealed as the second half began that Lawrence would not be returning to the game.

Clemson and Syracuse are playing on ABC. It's 16-7 Syracuse right now.
