UNC vs. Miami preview:

North Carolina has had an up and down season thus far. The Tar Heels opened the season with a loss to then No. 18 Georgia, and followed that up with four straight wins, including a big win over then No. 12 Florida State. North Carolina then got hammered by Virginia Tech in a 34-3 blowout loss. This game could depend on which North Carolina team shows up to play.

Miami opened its season with four straight wins. Those wins, rather than solidifying the Hurricanes as a contender, offered more questions than answers. They hadn't played anybody yet, at least not anyone good. Well, Florida State came to town and beat Miami in a tight 20-19 contest that would have gone to overtime if the Seminoles didn't block a PAT in the final minutes.

UNC and Miami have played 17 times in history, with the Hurricanes owning a 9-8 advantage.

UNC vs. Miami prediction:

Mark Richt has the Hurricanes playing solid football, and could very well be 5-0 on the season if it weren't for a blocked extra point. Both the Hurricanes and Tar Heels have explosive offenses, but it will be the Hurricane's defense that gives them the edge in this game.
