Report: United Buying Naming Rights To L.A. Memorial Coliseum

United has reportedly reached an agreement with USC and FOX Sports to purchase the naming rights to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

United Airlines is reportedly buying the naming rights to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, per Sports Business Daily. The deal is reportedly worth more than $70 million over 15 years. It is the richest naming-rights deal among college stadiums, surpassing Alaska Airlines' 10-year, $41 million deal with the University of Washington for Husky Stadium naming rights.

FOX Sports, in partnership with USC, has been attempting to sell the naming rights since 2015. The money from the massive deal is expected to go toward renovations of the aging building, which was first erected in the early 1920s. The renovations, which will cost upwards of $270 million, are set to be complete in 2019.

The stadium is currently in use by the Los Angeles Rams and the USC Trojans.
