Urban Meyer did an exclusive interview with ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi now that the Ohio State head coach's three-game suspension is up. Meyer is set to return to the Buckeyes' sideline on Saturday against Tulane.

Meyer, of course, was once again asked about several aspects of the allegations against now-fired assistant coach Zach Smith. He was also asked about his handling of everything and all of the reaction to it.

The Ohio State head coach's wife, Shelley Meyer, was also brought up. Zach Smith's ex-wife, Courtney Smith, sent text messages to Shelley Meyer about her relationship.

Meyer was asked by Rinaldi if he had seen those text messages. The Ohio State head coach maintains that he did not see them until later this summer.

He denied being told about text messages between Courtney Smith and his wife, Shelley, regarding the abuse allegations in 2015. He declined to "speak on her behalf" regarding how Shelley handled her interactions with Courtney.

"She has reasoning for why she didn't react," Meyer said. "And I'm not here to speak for Shelley, but she had a reasoning and her reasoning was what it was. That's why she did not alert me or just go anywhere else with it."

Meyer added that he has a very close relationship with his wife, so it's understandable for people to assume that Shelley would have shared those text messages. However, he was adamant that he didn't see them at the time they were received.

ESPN will air another part of the Meyer interview on Monday. Some of the conversation can be seen below:
