Ohio State's 2018 starting quarterback competition appears to have been settled. urban Meyer announced to reporters that Dawyne Haskins will be the Buckeyes' starting QB headed into camp.

This was the likely conclusion after former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow announced his transfer to LSU. Burrow was Haskins' primary competition for the starting role.

Haskins was the backup in 2017 and most saw him as the favorite to win the job this year. Meyer made sure to indicate that Tate Martell will now battle for the starting role as well.

Haskins has Meyer's full support.

Haskins was a highly sought-after recruit. He was the No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class.

Haskins put together a solid 2017 season, racking up over 500 yards through the are on 40-of-57 passing. He also had a respectable touchdown-to-interception ratio with four touchdowns to just one interception.
