Ohio State's head coach received a good bonus today.
Urban Meyer's bank account is a little bit bigger today.
Ohio State's head coach received a six-figure retention bonus, according to Eleven Warriors.
Just for remaining employed by the university through Jan. 31, Meyer is due a $160,000 retention bonus. Wednesday marked the start of a new year in his current contract, which is good through 2020. The contract year runs from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31.
The school also dumped $50,000 into Meyer's 403(b) Retirement Plan, as long as that sum did not change from when he signed an extension on April 6, 2015. The extension he signed pays him $6.5 million annually. The $160,000 retention bonus is the first of four such payments in the final four years of his contract.
Meyer, 52, is 61-6 as Ohio State's head coach - worth the money they're paying him, for sure.
