Urban Meyer Responds To Paul Finebaum Saying His Reputation Is "Shattered"

Urban Meyer spoke at length this afternoon about his three-game suspension at Ohio State, discussing everything from his errors with the handling of Zach Smith to the injury status of Buckeyes' star defensive lineman Nick Bosa.

Earlier today, ESPN aired part two of its exclusive interview with Meyer, who is making his return to the sideline this weekend.

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum had reacted to the latest Meyer interview, saying his reputation has been "shattered."

"I think [Urban Meyer's] credibility outside the bubble of Columbus Ohio is still shattered. I don't think many people around the country buy or believe much of what he's said," Finebaum said.

Meyer was asked this afternoon about the comments made by Finebaum. He appeared to be shaken up.

"That's tough to take," Meyer said. "(I've) spent 30-plus years in coaching, never been perfect. Tried extremely hard, love players. I'm hoping something like this, clarity...I did not lie to the media. I did not do a very good job"

Finebaum has been critical of Meyer throughout this entire process, though the ESPN college football analyst never believed that he would be fired by Ohio State.

The Buckeyes, meanwhile, are 3-0 with Meyer returning. Ohio Sate is set to host Tulane at Ohio Stadium on Saturday. OSU travels to Penn State in two weeks.
