USC Knocks Off Washington, Now Two College Football Playoff Teams Have Lost Today

The College Football Playoff rankings are going to get a major shakeup.

Saturday night, just hours after the college football world saw No. 2 Clemson fall to Pittsburgh at home, the No. 4 Washington Huskies suffered a similar fate. Washington, which had just found itself in the Playoff field as-of last Tuesday's rankings, fell to USC at home 26-13 in a game in which it was thoroughly outclassed.

What does it mean for the playoff rankings? Well, for starters, there are only two undefeated 'Power 5' teams left - Alabama and Michigan. After that, we've got a number of solid one-loss teams - Clemson, Louisville, Washington, Ohio State and West Virginia.

It's safe to say that Ohio State and Louisville will be part of Tuesday's foursome. Beyond that is anyone's guess.

As for Washington's playoff chances - the Huskies will need to win out to have a shot. Would a 12-1 Pac-12 squad with a weak out-of-conference slate get in? It'd be an interesting decision for the committee.
