The star quarterback has declared for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Sam Darnold won't be returning to USC for another season.
While some believed that the Trojans' redshirt sophomore quarterback could benefit from another year in college, the star QB has decided to go pro.
Darnold, who struggled a bit in 2017 after a sensational freshman season, announced on Instagram that he's declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Here's his announcement, which comes in the shape of a video.
Darnold, 20, is considered to be one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2018 class alongside UCLA's Josh Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield. Louisville's Lamar Jackson could be one as well, though he's yet to announce his decision.
The USC quarterback leaves the Trojans' program having thrown for 7,229 yards, 57 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He threw for 356 yards and 1 interception in a Cotton Bowl loss to Ohio State.
The 2018 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
