Rivalry games don't typically take place during college football's opening weekend. But Utah and BYU squared off in the Holy War on Thursday night.
One of the best rivalry games on the West coast hasn't been much an even battle over the last decade though. While BYU tends to put up a good fight, the Utah Utes have won nine straight over the Cougars.
The ninth straight victory came on Thursday night in a 30-12 Utah win. The Utes defense paved the way coming up with two defensive touchdowns.
Utah certainly made a statement on the field. But it's what one Ute said after the game that has caught the attention of social media.
When asked about what he thought of BYU, Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley had a humorous response.
"They so poo-poo," Huntley said, via Twitter. "You can tweet that."
It's clear how Huntley and the Utes feel about their long-time rival. The Pac-12 school has withstood any test BYU has thrown at them.
Huntley didn't have much success on the stat sheet though. He threw for just 106 yards with 39 rushing yards.
But he was helped by star running back Zach Moss. Moss rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown in front of 20 NFL scouts who were in attendance.
Utah is a popular darkhorse playoff prediction among national experts. Taking care of business against their rival is a good start for what many expect to be a great season for the Utes.
