On Saturday afternoon, the college football bowl season continued as the Memphis Tigers took on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. It was a wild game that ended in even crazier fashion.
Memphis opened an impressive 28-10 lead in the first half before Wake Forest battled back to cut the lead to just 28-24 heading into halftime. The Demon Deacons dominated the second half and led 30-28 with just over a minute left in the game.
However, Memphis scored with 1:15 left on the clock in the fourth quarter to lead the game 34-30. The Tigers left too much time on the clock, though, as Wake Forest battled back once again with a late touchdown to lead 37-34.
After a few questionable calls, Memphis attempted a 43-yard field goal to send the game to overtime, but the kick sailed just outside of the right upright, sealing the win for the Demon Deacons.
It's a tough way to end the season for the Tigers.
