Being a kicker in college football is difficult. You're either the hero for a last-minute field goal, or you'll be blamed for all time if you miss a kick that could have led to a win.

Kickers - in the grand scheme of things - get no love, but have one of the most-important jobs on the football field.

However, there a moments like this that make it way too easy to laugh at kickers. During Saturday's game between Wake Forest and Notre Dame, the Demon Deacons' kicking unit went out for a field goal.

The only problem? Their kicker wasn't on the field.

The kicker, Nick Sciba, was still practicing his kicks on the sideline. Eventually he ran out in time to try the field goal, but doinked it off the left upright.

In all fairness to Sciba, he's also made two field goals in the game against the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame leads 21-6 early in the second quarter.
