There is no question that Ohio State is losing a ton of talent to the upcoming NFL Draft, yet the program continues to reload with younger stars. The spring game is taking place right now in Columbus, and the early frontrunner for best performer from this afternoon is Garrett Wilson.

Wilson is the No. 20 recruit in the entire 2019 class, per 247Sports. Some wide receivers need time to develop in the NCAA, but it appears the transition from high school to college is pretty smooth for the Texas native.

During the second quarter of the spring game, Wilson made an exceptional touchdown catch. He won the jump ball against cornerback Sevyn Banks in the back of the end zone.

Former Buckeye Ted Ginn Jr. is in attendance for the spring game, and he had high praise for Wilson. The speedy wideout said that the freshman wideout shares similar traits with Michael Thomas.

Here is the touchdown reception:

His ability to high point the football on the throw from Matthew Baldwin is remarkable.

The Buckeyes will need Wilson to have an impact in his first year, especially with Parris Campbell and Terry McLaurin heading to the draft.

If today is a sign of things to come for Wilson, then he'll have quite the career in Columbus.
