On Saturday afternoon, rivals USC and UCLA met in Pasadena to settle their differences. The Trojans entered the game winners of three-straight against the Bruins, but both programs are in the midst of down seasons.
Despite their struggles this season, both teams got up for a game against their bitter rival. It didn't take long for the competitive juices to start flowing either.
USC defensive lineman Brandon Pili let the magnitude of the moment overwhelm him. During the first half, Pili was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, but he should have been ejected from the game entirely.
In the video below, Pili can be seen throwing a punch to the head of a UCLA offensive lineman.
Her's the play.
Usually, plays like this result in an immediate ejection, but that wasn't the case here.
As it stands now, USC holds a 24-21 lead with just over four minutes left in the first half.
