The 2019 college football season is officially underway.

Earlier this morning, ESPN's College GameDay crew broke down the action before tonight's huge non-conference contest between Miami and Florida.

Kirk Herbstreit and company gave their College Football Playoff picks and revealed which teams might surprise this year.

While the show was focused on the FBS programs, it was the FCS level that actually got the party started.

Villanova and Colgate faced off in a battle of FCS programs.

In the early portion of the games, the Wildcats scored the first touchdown of the 2019 college football season.

Dan Smith hit Jalen Jackson for an 18-yard touchdown pass.

Check it out.

That's a great way to start off the college football season.

Villanova extended its lead to 14-0 and looks to be in control of the game.

The FBS action gets started tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN as the Hurricanes take on the Gators.

Stay tuned for the latest from college football.
