Watch: Fiesta Bowl Refs Appeared To Miss A Blatant Late Hit On Penn State QB Trace McSorley

Washington takes late shot on Penn State QB Trace McSorley.

Not sure how they didn't call this.

Penn State led Washington 14-0 after one quarter in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, but the Nittany Lions narrowly avoided losing their star quarterback in the process.

Trace McSorley took a big (and illegal) hit from a Washington defender at the end of a run. Somehow, he stayed in the game.

Check out the replay here. It seems clear that McSorley was down beforehand.

It certainly seems like the refs missed this one, and McSorley is lucky he didn't suffer a concussion.

The second quarter is now underway, and Washington has trimmed Penn State's lead to 14-7. Catch all the action on ESPN.
