On Wednesday afternoon, Boston College and No. 25 Boise State met in a Servpro First Responder Bowl in Dallas. Boise State entered the contest as the favorite, but early in the first quarter it was all Eagles as the Broncos struggled to do anything offensively.

Unfortunately for fans, the game was hit by nearby thunderstorms. Boston College took a 7-0 lead into the weather delay.

After a few updates knocked back the start time to around 3:30 p.m. ET, the First Responder Bowl announced the game has been cancelled.

It's a tough break for the teams and their fans. Those that traveled from Boise and Boston to Dallas were there to watch their teams take the field for the final time on Wednesday.

The weather had other plans.

Boston College held a 7-0 lead when the announcement was made, however the Eagles won't be credited with a win. The game has been ruled as a no-contest.
