What An 8-Team College Football Playoff Would've Looked Like This Year

Here's what an eight-team College Football Playoff would've looked like this year.

"The College Football Playoff needs to go to 8 teams."

That seems to be a popular sentiment among college football fans this year.

If the playoff was 8 teams, what would it look like this year?

Here's our projection. We didn't base it strictly on the College Football Playoff's final rankings. We think an 8-team playoff would have an undefeated Group of 5 team so we have UCF in there. And we think Auburn would probably be the team in the top 8 to get left out, since the SEC would already have two teams.

The matchups:

No. 1 Clemson vs. No. 8 UCF at the Orange Bowl

No. 2 Oklahoma vs. No. 7 Wisconsin at the Cotton Bowl

No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 6 USC at the Sugar Bowl

No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 5 Ohio State at the Rose Bowl

How fun would that be?
