The Urban Meyer investigation at Ohio State was supposed to wrap up on Sunday night. The Buckeyes announced on Friday that the investigation was going to finish on time. The school had previously said on Sunday, Aug. 5 that it would take two weeks.
It's unclear if the investigation did in fact wrap up on Sunday night, but we've yet to hear anything to the contrary.
Now, we wait.
When is an Urban Meyer decision coming? In a couple of days, probably.
Ohio State's Board of Trustees still needs to meet. Following protocol, a 24-hour notice needs to be given prior to any meeting. As of yet, no notice appears to have been given.
So, Tuesday morning appears to be the earlier that a meeting could take place. It's possible that we could get an official decision soon after that, but it could take longer.
At this point, an official Urban Meyer decision could be expected for Wednesday or later.
Ohio State reporter Kyle Lamb tweeted the following:
Ohio State's football team, meanwhile, is less than two weeks away from opening its season. The Buckeyes begin the year on Sept. 1 against Oregon State. Ryan Day is leading the team in Urban Meyer's absence.
