Baker Mayfield is expected to be one of the first players taken in the upcoming NFL Draft. Some even believe there's a chance the former Oklahoma star could go No. 1 overall.

The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner won't be walking up on stage when his name is called, though. Mayfield won't be in attendance at AT&T Stadium.

The former Sooners' star told reporters on Monday night that he'll be watching the NFL Draft from home. Mayfield is an Austin, Texas native.

"I'll be in my hometown," Mayfield told reporters. "The draft would be a good experience, something I would never forget, but there's so many people that helped me along the way that I want to celebrate this with."

Mayfield was then asked if he would change his mind if he got the feeling he would be a top five, top 10 pick. He would not.

"I have that feeling right now," Mayfield said with a smile. "No, I'm not going."

Mayfield is set to attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this month. The former Oklahoma quarterback has said he plans on doing everything, including throwing.

The 2018 NFL Draft is set to take place in Arlington, Texas from April 26 to April 28.
