Why LSU Fired Les Miles Today

LSU fired Les Miles today.

Les Miles, who had been LSU's head coach since 2005, compiling a record of 114-34, is out as the Tigers' leader, as first reported by The AdvocateAlso gone is offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.

LSU reportedly thought about firing Miles toward the end of last season, but decided to bring him back.

Why'd they decide to fire him today?

According to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, they were worried he'd finish the season strong and save his job.

Huh?

That's basically what happened last year, but LSU's administration does realize that they're the ones in charge, and they can fire Miles whenever they want, right?

He had already lost twice this season after entering the year with a top-five team with national title expectations.

No matter what he did the rest of the season, firing him would've been acceptable.
