The timing of Bob Diaco's firing at UConn seems a little strange.
UConn announced on Twitter this morning that it has fired head football coach Bob Diaco.
Here's what the Huskies said about the decision:
“I know this may come as a surprise to our fans and supporters given the timing of this decision,” continued Benedict. “However, it became apparent to me that a change in program direction is necessary at this time.”
UConn went 3-9 this season and finished its 2016 campaign on Nov. 26.
Why'd it take a month for the Huskies to decide to fire Diaco, who had been there for three seasons?
Money is always a factor.
