The Badgers' star will not be applying for a sixth year of eligibility.

Wisconsin star linebacker Jack Cichy will not be returning to the Badgers in 2018.

Cichy, who missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL, announced in a post for The Players' Tribune this morning that he will not be applying for a sixth year of eligibility.

The linebacker is moving on to the NFL.

From his post:

I love Wisconsin.

And, in one way, that’s what makes what I’m about to tell you all so tough.

Even just typing this out now is … hard, so I’m just going to come out and say it.

I’ve decided not to apply for a sixth year of eligibility and to instead declare for the NFL draft.

I’m going to take my shot and see what happens.

Wisconsin is set to take on Miami in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. E.T. on ESPN.
