Wisconsin Issues Official Statement On Perceived Racist Halloween Costume

The University of Wisconsin has issued an official statement in regards to the perceived racist Halloween costume wore by a fan during its contest against Nebraska.

Saturday night, it was noted that a fan at the Wisconsin vs. Nebraska game at Camp Randall Stadium was wearing an offensive costume depicting President Barack Obama with a noose around his neck. The man's outfit - which went in tandem with another man's outfit - also depicted Hillary Clinton with a noose around her neck.

Wisconsin has released a statement on the matter. In short, the school notes that while it finds the costume "repugnant", it falls under free speech. The school also notes that it asked the fan to remove the offensive parts of his costume. Here's the statement:

While the game between the Badgers and the Cornhuskers was fantastic, this, clearly, was not.
