Scotland County running back Zamir White is set to make his commitment decision on June 27.
247Sports ranks White as the No. 1 running back in the country and top player in North Carolina. He is the No. 6 player overall in the class of 2018.
With just 10 days until he is set to decide, there is still some drama surrounding which school will land White.
Richard Bailey, White's high school coach, spoke to the SEC Recruiting Buzz podcast about where White is at in his recruitment.
Bailey doesn't know where the star back will commit, but he hinted that the decision may not be as obvious as some think.
247Sports transcribed key bits from the interview. Most recruiting experts, including 24 of the 26 that have voted on the site's crystal ball, believe that White will be a Georgia Bulldog, with the other votes going to Clemson.
Bailey, however, says it seems like things are "tightening up."
"I definitely think Georgia has some positives working in its favor," Bailey said. "For a long time, it definitely has appeared that that was sort of the leader, but again, as we get closer to signing day, it seems like these things are tightening up. Just like everybody else, I am interested in seeing what he decides on the 27th."
One potential reason for said "tightening"... a great visit to Alabama.
"He had a great visit down there," Bailey said. "I was really almost thinking that Alabama was maybe not in it, and then he had a great visit. They really sold him on the idea that they use multiple backs. They have Najee Harris, but they are a school that is going to use 2-3 running backs. That is sort of traditionally what they have done.
White is down to Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, and Ohio State in this heated recruitment. In 10 short days, we'll find out where the nation's top running back will be playing his college ball.
