A four-star point guard in the class of 2019 is back on the market. Sahvir Wheeler has reportedly obtained his release from Texas A&M.

The Houston (Tex.) Christian star committed to the Aggies as a sophomore back in 2016. He then signed with them in November.

However, the Aggies recently fired head coach Billy Kennedy. Texas A&M finished 14-18 this season, just one year after reaching the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

In the wake of the Kennedy news, Wheeler has reopened his recruitment.

At 5-foot-8, 165 pounds, Wheeler doesn't possess prototypical Division I size. However, he checks in as the No. 8 point guard in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Wheeler is also the 93rd-rated overall prospect in 2019 according to the composite data.

We'd expect him to draw plenty of interest this spring, as there are always schools looking to fill a need at point guard late in the process.
