Five-star Daishen Nix, the top point guard in the 2020 recruiting class, has trimmed his list of schools down to a top five.

Nix is down to Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland and UCLA. He cited Washington, Marquette and Arizona as some of the programs he had to cut.

The Las Vegas (Nev.) product holds nearly 20 scholarship offers.

Nix officially visited Maryland back in November and UCLA over the weekend. He also has a visit scheduled to Alabama for the end of September.

In addition to being the top point guard in his class and the top player in Nevada, Nix is the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Per his 247Sports evaluation, Nix"projects as a successful college point guard with NBA upside."

He's listed as a potential second round pick down the road and compared to former Villanova star Jalen Brunson.
