5-Star Kevin Knox Announces Commitment

Five-star small forward Kevin Knox announced his decision on Saturday.

Kevin Knox is one of the best high school basketball players in the country. The Tampa (Fla.) Catholic swingman is the No. 10 senior in the nation, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

The lengthy recruiting drama surrounding Knox finally concluded Saturday night. Knox took to Twitter late Saturday to announce his college decision. The 5-star recruit had five schools battling for the chance to sign him, but Kentucky had a leg up on the competition.

Here's where Knox will play his college ball in 2017.

Knox chose Kentucky over Duke, Florida State, Missouri, and North Carolina, whom he listed among his final five teams. The 6-foot-8 small forward adds tremendous length to the Kentucky Wildcats and should be in contention to start right away.

Coach John Calipari adds to an impressive 2017 recruiting class that features five other 5-star recruits. The Wildcats have a significant lead for the No. 1 spot in 247Sports' 2017 Basketball Recruiting Composite Team Rankings over UCLA.

Duke was the heavy favorite entering the final hours of Knox's recruitment, but it looks as though Calipari pulled one over on Coach K here.
