One of only a few remaining undeclared five-star prospects in the Class of 2019 announced his commitment on Friday afternoon. Star forward Matthew Hurt revealed where he plans to play his collegiate basketball.
Hurt is the latest five-star recruit to commit to play for Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils.
His decision came down to four college basketball blue bloods: Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina. In the end, Hurt decided Mike Krzyzewski is the coach for him.
Here’s the announcement from the recruit himself.

Per 247Sports, Hurt is the No. 8 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 2 power forward in the country, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Minnesota.
Hurt went through a breakout year during the 2017-18 season when he averaged 33.8 points per game, 15.0 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and 3.9 steals per game.
The five-star forward is the latest top recruit to choose the Blue Devils. Coach K brought in three of the top five recruits in the 2018 class – all of which are headed to the NBA.
With the addition of Hurt, Coach K now has two of the top eight players in the 2019 class. Five-star center recruit Vernon Carey is already in the fold.
