Canadian point guard Andrew Nembhard, who attends Montverde Academy in Florida, has chosen to reclassify up to the 2018 recruiting class.
Nembhard was among the top players in the class of 2019.
247Sports had him No. 18 overall in the class of 2019, and No. 4 among point guards and players in his native Ontario.
It is unclear where he'll wind up in the rankings for 2018, but what really matters is that he is coveted by many top schools.
Now, those programs will have the chance to add him very soon.
A few days ago, Nembhard told MADEHoops Stanford, Florida, Gonzaga, Arizona, UConn and Virginia as schools "making him a priority," while USC, South Carolina, Washington, Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee are also involved. Baylor, Missouri, Oklahoma, Villanova, and Virginia Tech have also offered, according to 247Sports.
Nembhard is teammates with another big-time Canadian prospect who may reclassify: the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2019, R.J. Barrett. It wouldn't be too surprising for teams looking to land Barrett to pay Nembhard some more attention going forward.
