The longtime college basketball reporter had been at ESPN for nearly 20 years.
Andy Katz had been working at ESPN as a college basketball reporter for 17 years.
Today, he revealed that he is part of the massive layoffs hitting the self-described "Worldwide Leader."
News of Katz' exit broke this morning when his now-former co-worker, Seth Greenberg, posted a heartfelt tribute on Twitter.
Katz took to Twitter moments ago, addressing his situation.
"New options will arise. Stay following. And stay tuned," he writes.
Katz is perhaps the biggest name part of ESPN's layoffs, joining other high-profile employees like Ed Werder, Britt McHenry, Dana O'Neil and Danny Kanell, among others.
Our thoughts are with him and everyone affected by the layoffs hitting ESPN.
Katz will surely thrive in whatever comes next for him.
