West Virginia and Kansas battled Saturday night in a Big 12 showdown. The Jayhawks took control of the game late, and walked out with a 77-69 win.
Bob Huggins wasn't happy with the officiating late in the game, and it showed big time. The longtime West Virginia head basketball coach was ejected from the Mountaineers' game against Kansas on Saturday night.
Now, the ejection came late in the game when the game was already out of hand for the Mountaineers, but it's still notable when a coach gets ejected from a game. Huggin received his second technical foul in the waning seconds of the game, and was escorted off the floor by his assistant coaches.
With just under eight seconds remaining in the game, Huggins erupted at a call from the officials and he let them hear it. Shortly after Huggins began berating the refs, he received and tech, and then REALLY went after the refs.
Check it out.
Huggins might have the right to gripe. Kansas had a clear advantage at the free throw line, racking up 35 free throw attempts throughout the game.
West Virginia left the contest having attempted just two free throws. A 35-2 free throw advantage for the Jayhawks likely didn't calm Huggins' nerves at all.
In the end, Kansas walks out with the win.
