Report: Oregon Transfer Casey Benson Down To 3 Schools

Casey Benson, an Oregon basketball grad transfer, is down to three schools: Butler, Grand Canyon, and Wisconsin.

CBS Sports and FanRag Sports' Jon Rothstein broke the news on Twitter that the 6-foot-3 guard has narrowed his search to the three programs for his final collegiate season.

The Ducks guard originally announced his intention to transfer back on April 12.

Butler and Wisconsin are pretty established college basketball programs, with both being regulars in the NCAA Tournament over the last decade. Grand Canyon is the wild card here, but Dan Majerle's Antelopes are coming off of a 27-7 season and the Phoenix school is fairly close to Benson's home town of Tempe.

Benson had been a role player through three years at Oregon. Last season, he averaged 4.9 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 rebounds for the Ducks. He scored five points and grabbed three rebounds in 21 minutes against North Carolina in the Final Four semifinal. He has a single-game career high of 15 points, which he has hit twice in his career: in 2015-16 against Utah, and last season against Cal.

He should be a solid addition to the back court depth of any one of these three programs.
