Report: Chase Jeter Has Interest In 8 Schools As Potential Transfer Destinations
According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Duke transfer Chase Jeter has eight schools as potential destinations, all closer to his hometown of Las Vegas.
Duke announced Jeter's departure a few weeks ago. The former five-star forward had an injury-plagued tenure with the Blue Devils, appearing in just 16 games with the program this season, averaging 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game. Still, he was the No. 15 player in his recruiting class, and has plenty of potential.
Borzello says that eight teams are involved in Jeter's transfer: Arizona, Cal, Gonzaga, Oregon, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, and Utah.
While all Western schools, it is an interesting group. Gonzaga and Oregon have had success with transfers recently and are each coming off of Final Four runs, while Arizona and UCLA have each established themselves as Pac-12 powers.
During his recruitment, Jeter chose Duke over fellow finalists Arizona, Kansas, Oregon, UCLA, and UNLV. Three of those schools are back involved, so they might be considered the favorites here, though it is hard to really tell after two years at the college level. Transferring to a program like Gonzaga that has become a haven for players coming from power programs might be an attractive option as well.
