Dickie V is under fire for his latest comments.
Earlier this week, Louisville effectively fired Pitino following the FBI’s investigation into the school’s men’s basketball program.
On Friday afternoon, Dick Vitale put out a tweet suggesting Rick Pitino made a series of bad hires which led to him getting placed on administrative leave.
Here’s the tweet from Dickie V.
Do u know that Rick Pitino has put 31 assistant coaches into head coaching positions ? Sad as in last couple of yrs he made bad hires .

It was not well received among the Twitter world.
If he is coach #2, it doesn't matter what type of hires he made.. it was HIM. Sad ending all around.

There were plenty of other, less savory, responses to Vitale.
This afternoon, Louisville plans to name an interim head coach. Interim President Greg Postel announced that the university has plans to name an interim athletic director next week.
