The 2018 NCAA Tournament kicked off on Tuesday night with two play-in games between St. Bonaventure vs. UCLA, and LIU-Brooklyn against Radford. The Bonnies and Highlanders walked out with wins, and will advance to the Round of 64.
While those two teams will play in yet another NCAA Tournament game this weekend, two other teams that didn’t make it into the tournament put together dominant wins on Tuesday night. St. Mary’s and Middle Tennessee were snubbed by the NCAA Tournament.
Dickie V thinks they should have made the NCAA, not the NIT.
More fun & excitement in @NCAA if Davids that were good all yr ala @MT_MBB & @StMaryshoops r in the tourney than all the Goliaths that represent MEDIOCRITY! @marchmadness .By the way both won easily tonight in NIT .

St. Mary’s received a No. 1 seed in the NIT and defeated No. 9 Southeastern Louisiana by a final score of 89-45. Meanwhile, No. 3 Middle Tennessee faced off against No. 6 Vermont and used a dominant third quarter to win 91-64.
Two dominant wins later, it looks like Dick Vitale might have a case on his hands. There was plenty of controversy about the teams that made it into the NCAA Tournament, and those that were left to mill around in the NIT.
Is he right?
