College basketball has been pretty unpredictable lately. Villanova has been upset twice in a week. Duke has gone down. Virginia fell to Virginia Tech.
Are there any truly great teams this year? Maybe not.
That's going to make the 2018 NCAA Tournament even more exciting to watch, though. Madness is certainly going to ensue.
ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale has updated his rankings. His current national title favorite resides in the Big Ten.
Michigan State, led by star forward Miles Bridges, is the No. 1 team in Vitale's latest rankings. The Spartans are 25-3 and have won nine games in a row. No team in the country is playing better than Tom Izzo's group.
Here's Vitale's full top 10:
1. Michigan State
8. Ohio State
Michigan State is one of several teams competing for a No. 1 seed. According to ESPN's projections, the Spartans are currently in line to get one, too.
ESPN's Basketball Power Index gives the following four teams the best chances to land No. 1 seeds: Virginia 99% Villanova 98% Purdue 71% Michigan State 52%.
It's certainly going to be a fun finish this year. We're less than 4 weeks away from Selection Sunday.
