Duke Star Signs NIL Deal With Nail Polish Company
Duke's Jared McCain has been one of the stars of the tournament for the Blue Devils, helping them advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
Just before the team's next game against Houston on Friday night, McCain made an exciting announcement of a new NIL deal.
The freshman guard, who often paints his nails, has signed a deal with beauty brand Sally Hansen.
McCain announced his partnership in a TikTok, adding that he was "sorry if that offends any of you guys."
The Duke freshman says he paints his nails because it helps him avoid biting them.
"I know a lot of people disagree and a lot of people don't like it, but I'm just gonna do myself and do what I think looks nice."
He says that he continued to paint his nails after having a great game following a trip to the salon, and even though he isn't superstitious, it's a hobby he enjoys.
McCain used the power of nail polish to score 30 points in Duke's blowout win over James Madison in the second round.
He hit eight three-pointers in the 93-55 win that sent the Blue Devils into the regional semifinals.
Duke faces No. 1 seed Houston for the right to play in the Elite Eight on Sunday.
The Blue Devils are looking to make the Final Four for the first time under Jon Scheyer, who took over for Mike Krzyzewski last season.
One No. 1 seed has already been knocked out of the tournament in North Carolina, and Duke is looking to take another one down on Friday.
We'll see if the polish helps McCain put on another great performance on Friday night.
