ESPN Names Favorite To Win NCAA Tournament After Sweet 16

After months of Bracketology, a full look at the ncaa tournament bracket during the Final Four in 2015

The Sweet 16 wrapped up late Friday night with a pair of blue bloods winning close games. Duke and Kentucky dispatched upset bids from Virginia Tech and Houston respectively to move on to the Elite Eight.

The Blue Devils were a last-second tip-in from going to overtime against the Hokies. However, Zion Williamson and company survived to set up a date with Michigan State in the Elite Eight.

With the Sweet 16 in the rear view, ESPN updated its Basketball Power Index. The model predicts which teams will move on to the Final Four and title game.

So, who will make the title?

According to ESPN's computer model, Gonzaga and Virginia have the best shots to make the title.

Percent chance to reach title game:

Gonzaga - 44.7-percent

Virginia - 56.1-percent

Virginia has the best chance to cut down the nets at the end of the tournament, according to ESPN's model.

Here are the three teams with the best odds to win the title:

  • Virginia - 32.4-percent
  • Gonzaga - 26.8-percent
  • Duke - 13.9-percent

No other team has double-digit percent chance to take home some nylon this year.

The Elite Eight tips off tonight with Gonzaga vs. Texas Tech and Purdue vs. Virginia.
