Ranking anything is a surefire way to anger people on social media.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Myron Medcalf unveiled his top-25 men's college basketball players from the last 25 years. Kevin Durant topped the list for his one standout season at Texas, followed by Anthony Davis, Zion Williamson, Jay Williams, and Stephen Curry.

As in the case with any list, fans argued about the order. They were particularly upset about Michael Beasley's snub after only looking at the top 10 posted by On3. Medcalf ranked Beasley 11th.

"Michael Beasley should be here and you can't convince me otherwise," Hoop Magazine's Josh Eberley said.

"The Michael Beasley disrespect is outrageous," a fan wrote.

"No Greg Oden is crazy," a fan claimed. "Melo is too low, and Zion is too high," a fan said. Oden didn't make the top 25."

"Why is Melo at 8?" a fan asked. "What he did a Syracuse was so special."

"Yes, Trae Young, [whose] team lost to Rhode Island in the Round of 64, is a top-10 college basketball player of the last 25 years," Mountain West Wire's Sean Paul wrote sarcastically.

This is a challenging task when weighing individual versus team success and the length of a player's college stay. Is an elite one-and-done from Carmelo Anthony or Beasley better than Curry's three seasons?

It's also hard to separate the players from their NBA accomplishments. Perhaps Adam Morrison and Jimmer Fredette would place higher than No. 23 and 24 if they succeeded more as pros.
